LONDON (CP) — If you’ve always wanted to sleep in a castle, and you’ve got $3,000 a week (per person) to spend, has Jane Seymour got a deal for you.
The rental fee for the actor’s 1,000-year-old manor house — St. Catherine’s Court — in Bath, England, includes access to a personal chef and maid, reports ETOnline.com.
The manor house, built in AD 950 as a Benedictine monastery, has nine bedrooms, 6 1/2 baths, a grand ballroom, six reception rooms, a dining room that seats up to 18 people, and a library. The third floor was converted to accommodate Seymour’s family.
Seymour, best known for her Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman role on TV, bought the manor in 1983 for $600,000, but then ended up spending a lot more money restoring it.
“To even own a house like that is daunting, then you have to restore it, because it came with what seemed like a thousand years of deferred maintenance,” she said in a recent interview with Design Times.
Tours of Enchantment, the agency that handles rentals of Seymour’s home, also represents Mick Jagger, who has a home on the Caribbean island of Mustique, Randy Travis, who has a home on Maui, and Julio Iglesias, who has a place in Acapulco.
